Moose and the Higgs boson

I just read your editorial "Moose and the Higgs boson" (February 2012). It is a fine article and I understand why you wrote it, but please forgive me if I make a rather impolite observation.

The first paragraph is the nerdiest thing I have ever read. Bar none. For the average person, it is a colossal non sequitur such one might expect from the mind of Sheldon Cooper (a character on The Big Bang Theory). Honest to Pete, I read the first paragraph and rolled on the floor.

Thank you for reminding me how interesting we nerds are.

Editor's response:

Thank you for the compliment. And speaking of the hit TV show The Big Bang Theory, this issue of symmetry includes an interview with David Saltzberg, science advisor for the show.
